Application Process

Eligibility Criteria

  • The application deadline is 60 days prior to the program start date. Contact the Mentor for the exact dates.
  • Must be at least 18 years old at the start of the program.
  • Must have received, at minimum, a high school diploma issued by a recognized high school, or equivalent.
  • Applicants must possess a minimum proficiency in the English language including the ability to read, write, and speak in English.
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to live and work in the United States.
  • Must not be required to register as a sex offender under Missouri Statute 589.400.
  • Must not have been convicted of committing a violent crime against another person.
  • Applicants must acknowledge that they are capable, physically, mentally, and emotionally, of performing and receiving massage, and other forms of soft tissue treatment, with a wide variety of people.
  • Applicants must acknowledge that they possess the physical mobility and dexterity necessary for performing massage therapy services.

Application Process

If you meet the above state eligibility criteria, please request the application package by contacting the Mentor. Once the request is received, the application package will be sent to the applicant. The application package can also be collected directly from the mentor as well. Please include the following documents when you send in the application package:

  • Along with the completed application form, the applicant must provide the following prior to being considered for acceptance to The Massage Coach mentorship program:
    • Proof of the highest level of education received. Acceptable documentation includes both of the following:
      • Official high school diploma or equivalent or college diploma indicating successful completion of at least a two-year program.
      • Official high school transcript or college transcript indicating successful completion of at least a two-year program.
    • Proof of citizenship (a copy of state government issued ID or passport or birth certificate) or Green Card or Visa.
    • Three recommendation letters (2 MUST be from non-family members).
    • Essay explaining why the applicant wants to pursue a career in massage therapy (1-2 pages; Typed in Times New Roman 12-point font, Single Spaced with 1-inch margins all around).
    • Any additional information needed to support statements from the application.
    • Application fee of $75 (non-refundable).

Return the completed application package to the Mentor, electronically (in editable MSWord or pdf format) or via snail mail in one large envelope. Please note that incomplete or inaccurate information on the application is grounds for rejection of the application.

After receiving the application, the Mentor will schedule the admissions interview. The interview will verify that all information about the field, the program, and the licensure guidelines have been properly explained. Please ask any questions about the program during your interview, if they have not already been answered.

Admission Requirement

Following the admissions interview, the applicant will be notified of the admissions decision.

  • Must successfully complete the admissions interview to be considered for admittance by the program Mentor. 
  • Upon acceptance,
    • The student will meet with the mentor to discuss a financial plan to cover the costs to attend the program.
    • Upon completion of the financial arrangements, the student will sign and turn in the Enrollment Agreement (binding financial contract) and the Retail Payment Installation Agreement Promissory Note with Disclosure (if applicable) to the Mentor and provide the financial deposit as per the payment schedule in the Agreement to confirm attendance.

Applicants are encouraged to submit their application early because space is limited to 4 students each year.
